Who We Are

Organization of Hindu Malayalees (OHM) is one of the largest Hindu organizations in the SoCal area, since its inception in June 1991 OHM has been one of the most preeminent organizations to establish its footprint to the development of the cultural and religious traditions of state of Kerala, India.

OHM has been a staunch contributor to the Indian American diaspora through an array of initiatives over the years; it has been a pioneer in bringing talented artists that have mastered traditional art forms from the state of Kerala to Southern California.  OHM's success has only been possible through the support of its active member community, friends & well-wishers. OHM also has its own educational initiative EducateAKid provides financial scholarships to low income students in India.

It has been one of OHM’s landmark initiatives to build a cultural center that can expand the organization’s reach and to preserve/spread the traditions of Kerala and stay true to its mission, this goal was achieved in September 2017, made possible through extraordinary contributions from various individuals and entities over the years

OHM also conducts various other events throughout the year including our annual Onam Celebrations, Raja Ravi Varma Art Competition, Swathi Tirunal Day, monthly poojas and others activity for our members and the community.

EducateAKid is a scholarship program designed to help underprivileged young men and women who have entered higher learning institutions in India.  Cultural Center

Our long-term vision is a center to educate society on the values of Sanathana Dharma and a common place where our seniors, youth, and community in general can assemble to promote Sanathana Dharma.

OHM long-term goal was to find a permanent home, which we accomplished in 2017, located at 9461 Flower St, Bellflower, CA – 90706. The cultural center is used for regular monthly poojas and other spiritual and cultural activities. This was possible with the donations of over 40 asset members.  Asset membership is available for those donating $5000.00 and above to the OHM cultural center.  In addition, those who donate will have OHM life membership privileges.
